still winter. . . . . . .

You would never know by the weather outside that we are suppose to have a major snow storm in the next couple days!!! Jorge and I was just out taking out the trash and getting the mail. And my is it nice! Cloudy..... but nice. You never know in western Kansas. The last few days have even been up to 60 degrees. Oh my! And here I thought that maybe we weren't having a winter this year. But it does sound like Punxsutawney Phil came out of his hole to “see” his shadow yesterday,  predicting six more weeks of winter.

The girls were suppose to be coming home tomorrow night. But not now. We had a birthday party planned.  Which we postponed. Then Jessica had "business" to do out here in old western Kansas next week. Funny thing about city folk....... even though they are calling for up to 15 inches of snow Friday and Saturday. Then blowing snow Sunday with white out conditions. (And us country folk already postponed our plans..... )  Her boss still thinks they will make it on Monday. Hmmmm.... guess we will see. I'll let you know on that one. :-)

m i a . . . . . .

I know...... I've been mia for a while. Only excuse, is I just did not feel up to it. But hopefully things will be on the uphill side soon. Seemed that my RA was progressing and I was just feeling terrible. I changed Rheumatologists and hope to be feeling better soon. According to my new doctor, my meds were kind of kicking my butt and one of them was messing with my sleep. And even thou I thought I was sleeping, but having VERY vivid dreams......... according to my new doctor...... I really wasn't sleeping. Then you have this snowball effect.... no sleep, tired, feel bad...... just one big circle. So he changed around my meds and hopefully I will be feeling better soon. I have also just went from working full time to part time, so that should help too. Lots of rest is suppose to keep the RA from progressing.

And that is the goal.... not letting this RA stuff....... kick my butt!!

the good, bad and the ugly. . . . . .

the good........ As I said recently, there was nothing on Mishi's MRI. Everything is where it should be. And there are no tears or cartilage damage.

the bad...... The swelling and fluid retention is from a bad arthritis flare up. I guess with all the surgeries, that was bound to happen. But we just didn't think it would happen this fast. With the shape Mishi's knee is in, it is to be expected that little chunks of bone will break off her knee cap. The Dr. said that there will be more surgeries in the future as they will have to go in and clean those out every so often. But, not at this time is it needed.

the ugly..... They drained quite a bit of fluid off her knee. Then they injected it with cortisone. At first she said it felt pretty good, but within hours she was in pretty good pain. We know that it can take a few days for it to feel better. As of right now she says that it is pretty achy. "Feels like it does after surgery. Like someone has been in there messing around." (which is exactly what has happened) She will be on an anti-inflammatory/pain medicine for a month. Then will take it as needed.

Hopefully we can make it another year before it acts back up..............

ps....... They did test her for Rheumatoid Arthritis. Those results should be back in about a week.

great news. . . . . . . .

Michele got the call from the Dr.'s office.  Her MRI looks fine. Thank goodness!! So surgery #6 is not in the planning at this time. We go see the Dr. on Friday to have it drained and then they are going to give her a cortisone shot. Hopefully they will be able to answer our questions as to the why???
