She's a boy? ?

Boo went to the vets last week to get spayed and declawed.  Boo didn't get spayed.  Boo got neutered.  I find that funny!  You would think with as many cats as we have had we would be able to tell.

"He" is now home and resting.  And is loving his snuggling more than ever.  Feels good to know he feels secure with us.

s.t.r.e.t.c.h. . . . .

I've been at it again.  A few years ago I started getting spinal decompression on my back.  It helped considerably.  I still go in about every 6 weeks to have it done on my back.  So when my neck really started hurting they did the MRI.  Nothing big showed up, but my doctor thought considering my RA I should try the spinal decompression on my neck.  What can it hurt??  Hmmmmm.  The spinal decompression on my back. . . . really feels pretty good.  Getting stretched out.  And if they don't push it too hard I'm not really sore afterwards.  The neck. . . . this is a little different.  I don't think it would be too bad if it just pulled.  But it kind of tilts your head back, chin up and then pulls.  There are two knobs that hook on the bottom of your head.  And after 20 minutes of them pushing your head up and back. . . gets a little tender.  I also tend to have a nasty headache the day after too.  And you ask then why do I keep getting it?

It has helped my neck incredibly!!

Christmas. . . .

This year was a first.  A first for Roger and I to not spend Christmas day with both us girls.  It was a change, but change comes when your children grow up and make their own families.

Michele was home the weekend before Christmas.  It was so good to have her home for a few days.  On Saturday we invited my family up for a chicken and noodle dinner.  Of course it is a hit with Michele as that is one of her favorites.  (She requested!)  It was so nice to have my family here.

On Saturday night we celebrated our Christmas with Michele.  And then on Sunday she was on her way back east.  Boohoo.

Wednesday afternoon Jessica and Gabe showed up for a few days.  It was also pretty great to have the time with them too!  We opened our presents on Christmas morning and then they were off to Grandma Ummels for dinner.  I wasn't feeling the best so I spent most of the day snuggling down with Jorge and Boo.

My favorite gifts.  My girls know me well.......

The sweatshirt is from Michele and the necklace from Jessica.  LOVE. LOVE. LOVE!

Saturday morning Jessica and Gabe headed home. Sad. Sad.  But then we had afternoon visitors!!  Kathryn, Teagan, Thane, Vicki and Kim came for an afternoon visit.  Had some major visiting that went on.

Good thing we have kept all of Michele's "learning" toys!!  Thane and Teagan played and played.  Being a "great" is pretty nice!

year in review. . . .

I just can't believe that it is the last day of the year! As we get older it seems to fly by way too fast!!  Just like everyone else, it has been a busy one.

2014 was the year of planning.  Planning Jessica and Gabe's wedding set for May 9, 2015.  Busy as it was, Michele and Nick ALSO got engaged. Yes! Both our babies will be getting married in 2015.  We are soooooo excited!  Michele and Nick is thinking September, but would like to get the venue and everything booked before we say the date out loud.  (Remember the problem with Jessica and Gabe's?  We had to change the date 5 times!!) To say that maybe 2015 will be even busier that 2014 for the Ummel's is a understatement!

Our niece Courtney will be graduating from High School the weekend after Jessica's wedding.  And then another niece Taylor will be getting married June 27th.  Busy year for my parents.  Three granddaughters getting married and one high school graduation in 5 months. Whew!

Michele and Nick bought their first home in May. :)

Roger is still driving his truck :-) And I am working two days a week at the hospital now.  The other days trying to rest and keep my RA in order.  (darn thing!)

Jorge and Luke are still our little's around here.  We also welcomed "Boo" into our home in October.  She is a little feisty, but will be getting spayed and de-clawed next week.  Babies!! I'm sure she will still be "booing" us, but hopefully this helps with her liking to use those claws on us.

Here's to a wonderful 2014 and a great 2015 to come!
Happy New Year!!

Happy Birthday to this guy. . . . . . . .

Couldn't ask for a more supportive person to share my life with.

Think I'll keep him around.
