Why? . . . . . .

Why do they call it Black Friday? Just wondering. I mean, after all, it starts on Thanksgiving. What happened to it all starting on Friday?

As I sit here with my feet up, I hear snoring. :-) Not sure which room it is coming from. The dogs are wondering, Roger is at work and I'm here. So. . . . . it is coming from either Jessica or Michele. Your question. . . . . Did they do "Black Friday"? 

Yes! Yes they did. Thanksgiving we spent at The Kaler's. As usual, GREAT food and lots of family bonding. Mom, Dad, Courtney, DeJay (Courtney's friend), Cody, Jessica & Michele had the plan. The plan for Black Friday. And it sounds like they had lots of fun!!! And Michele got her big ticket item. . . . the 50" tv. YEAH!!! They started with the midnight sale at The Mall and ended up at their destination, aka home, about 7:30 this morning. Lets say it did not take them long to go to bed. It don't sound like a big deal, but when you think about it, that is up for about 24 hours. Eating a big turkey meal. Lots of laughing, pushing, shoving and just doing the shop till you drop!! Way to go guys!! Way to take it for the team!

black friday..........

was CRAZY!!!!!! Me, Jessica, Michele, Courtney, Cody, Mom and Dad met up at Wal-Mart. Of course there were sooooo many people. That was to be expected. This year I was after the 40" tv's.  And I got them!!! When we got there, I went and got in line for the tv's. Then after Mom and Dad made it back, we put Mom in charge of waiting. Since she just had a knee replacement a month ago.... and her ankles are not the best..... we made sure she was in a wheelchair for the looonnnngggg wait. Then the rest of us split up to get what was on Jessica's list for 10pm. After that we then split up for the midnight sales. Mom was still in the frozen section waiting for the tv's.  Every now and then one of us would check up on her, and Courtney was even taking her magazines to read while waiting. I do have to say I came close to feeling scared about getting trampled. Things were pretty tight for a while. I say that people are CRAZY..... but then why am I there??  :-)  Once Michele went and got us pops. She had an extra.... and even sold it to someone waiting. Somebody ought to take that into thought next year. Make money instead of spending it. Even worse than trying to get our sales was trying to pay for them. The lines were just terrible! I'm thinking that we will skip out next year..... but we said that last year too. Guess we'll see. It WAS fun!

mission IMPOSSIBLE....

So.... last year we did so well! We were so happy! We got our tv's! Three to be exact. This year.... not so much. CRAZY!!! Jessica, Courtney, Cody & I headed for Hays. (Roger went to bed. Mishi went to bed.)We were going for the midnight sales at Wally World. Oh my goodness! Was it CRAZY! We met up with Mom and Dad. It didn't take us long to ditch our carts. I've NEVER seen so many people. And they were rude, rude, rude! Jessica just about popped a few people for taking Cody out with carts. People were actually lining up for the tv's at midnight. The electronics were not to be un-rapped til 5 am. And the check out lines, they were L.O.N.G! So, we spent $0.00! Bought absolutely NOTHING! (Guess we did go to the quick shop and buy two pops for the ride home.) Now that we are at home, Jessica is checking prices online. And the pan set she wanted.... the one that we thought was such a great deal... only $10 off. So.... it is official! We have decided that next year we will do our Black Friday shopping from the comforts of our lazyboys! Go TEAM UMMEL! :-)

Black Friday.....

Our annual black friday went without a hitch again this year. Michele was in our bedroom door singing "Good morning to you....." at 2:55 am. We left at 3:15am, got gas and was in Wal-Mart at 4:00am. The goal was the 32" tv. YES!!!! We got the tv's! Roger and I got one for our family room. Jessica decided she wanted to combine her G&G Kaler Christmas present with Mom&Dad's. And also got a tv. Then right at the very last minute..... Michele decided she wanted to buy herself one. Later we found out that Gabe would have liked to have had one, but it was a little late. Stinks to be him. Sorry Gabe! We had fun keeping in contact with Jenny, Taylor & Haylee in Wichita. They first thought that they wanted the tv too and we were all going to try to get one.... then talk to the other city before we let any one of them go. Taylor was SOOOOOOO much fun! Maybe next year we can shop all together.
