Bathroom remodal. . . . . .

When we moved into our current home, there was lots to be desired.  To say the least.  An old farmhouse that was built in 1950 and hadn't been occupied for 4 years.  It looked to have not been updated since the 80's.  So you can only imagine. . . . . .

Since then we have updated almost every room in the house.  And some we have redone the redo.  One of the bathrooms being one of those.  The bathroom is very tiny.  When we started we decided to follow suit with the floor plan.  And at the time we were wanting to get the room done asap for Michele's high school graduation party.  It was pretty nasty and embarrassing.  So when it only had the tub hooked up and not the shower, we just went with it.  Put a new tub and went from there.  I have always been a bath person.  Roger a shower person.  Bathtub in the main bathroom.  Shower being in our master bedroom shower.  We had it covered.

Then. . . . .

Gabe came into the picture.  :-)  And then Nick.  :-)  Shower guys.

Not that I didn't mine.  But they were a little uncomfortable.  And I can see why.  Who wants to ask if they can go thru your bedroom to shower.

So the redo of the redo was started.  And I got to say it turned out pretty darn good.

Hmmmmm. . . . When I say bad.  I mean bad.  The tub drain had rusted out.  This part of the house was added on to the original old house.  So there is a crawl space.  But no opening to get to the crawl space.  Now that makes sense right??  And my woman's gut was right after pushing Roger to pursue it.  Every time we used the bathtub. . . . it was draining out on the ground in the crawl space.  Let's just say that now there are two ways to get under there.  And when I say crawl space. . . . I mean a space that Roger and Nick could only scoot flat on their backs in.  A space that I knew I wouldn't be able to handle the little space.  A space that M thought she was brave enough. . . . . . she wasn't.

Boo was a BIG help with the renovation!!

Remember I said the bathroom is very small.  So there is no place for towels or any storage.  After racking my brain I came up with this.  This ladder came from the farm.  I think it was Roger's grandfathers.  So we cut it a little shorter and attached it.  At first it was hard to explain to Roger what I wanted to do.  And I have to admit he wasn't so sure.  But it works great for storage!!

The framing boards all came from the old building that were knocked down on the farm.

It might be small.
But it is clean.
And it works.
And it is all ours.  :-)
