Kansas City. . . . . . .

We just got back from Topeka. The girls, Roger and I had tickets to see Martina McBride and George Strait. (Along with 18,000 other people.) I've always wanted to see George in concert. And that we did. BUT..... George was sick! Martina gave an absolutely wonderful concert. She nailed it!! George came out..... sang two songs..... and said..... "I'm sorry. I tried. But I'm sick." So...... this coming weekend we are going back to Kansas City. Where there will be another concert given to make up for him being sick. Good reason to see our girls again!!

Glada did ride to Topeka with us. While we went to the concert, she spent time at Alan and Miranda's. She was gonna see her new great grand daughter Caroline, but got a big surprise! She got to see ALL four of her great grandchildren. Kathryn and Tanner was also there visiting.

h . e . a . v . e . n . . . . . . . . .

We may be different.
We may be weird.
We may be loud.
We are Kaler. We are Johnson. We are Mitchell. And we are Ummel.
We are F . A . M . I . L . Y !

A family that I am proud to be part of! A family that sticks together. And does what needs to be done. So..... if you think we are too different, or too weird..... then maybe you shouldn't read on.

This family had a birthday party last Saturday. A birthday party  for someone who is in Heaven. We laughed and we cried. We talked and we ate. We bonded. And we sent balloons to Heaven.........

Happy Birthday sweet Sis in Heaven.....
We miss you so very much!!

still winter. . . . . . .

You would never know by the weather outside that we are suppose to have a major snow storm in the next couple days!!! Jorge and I was just out taking out the trash and getting the mail. And my is it nice! Cloudy..... but nice. You never know in western Kansas. The last few days have even been up to 60 degrees. Oh my! And here I thought that maybe we weren't having a winter this year. But it does sound like Punxsutawney Phil came out of his hole to “see” his shadow yesterday,  predicting six more weeks of winter.

The girls were suppose to be coming home tomorrow night. But not now. We had a birthday party planned.  Which we postponed. Then Jessica had "business" to do out here in old western Kansas next week. Funny thing about city folk....... even though they are calling for up to 15 inches of snow Friday and Saturday. Then blowing snow Sunday with white out conditions. (And us country folk already postponed our plans..... )  Her boss still thinks they will make it on Monday. Hmmmm.... guess we will see. I'll let you know on that one. :-)
