Hoppy Easter!!

Today is Thursday. Today is the day that Michele is coming home for the long Easter weekend. And today is the day that I seem to be just sitting on my behind getting nothing done. Dishes to be washed and floors to be moped. At least I did get her bedding washed yesterday. But yes, it is just laying on her bed. Jeezzzz! What is wrong with me?? :-) 

We've really been working in our basement. My Dad helped me build a shelf for my scrapbook papers. Then Roger has built me a couple shelves for all my scrapbook and sewing "stuff". I'm still in the process of putting everything away, but will post pictures when it is all put together. But do have to say I'm loving it!! I also picked up the cutest old vanity with mirror. And I can't wait to get my hands on the pretty little thing. I think I'm naming her "Lillie". And in doing all of this, I gave my parents my bedroom dresser, armorie and nightstand. They were theirs and they had given them to Roger and I many many years ago. Now they are going to repaint them and going to put it all in Cody's bedroom. Can't say we don't reuse or re purpose!! I'm really excited to see how it all looks when done. So, now you ask. . . . . if I gave away most of my bedroom furniture. . . . . what am I going to do?? Buy new? NOPE! It may take a while, but I will share when we are done. As I'm getting older I'm becoming more simple. Less is better? Roger would say that every time I get rid of stuff I buy more. And I have to agree. 

But at least I'm trying!!

Apparently I don't put much thinking into things. Then it was brought up to my attention. And then I went. . . . . DUH! 

I'm very much into saving money. Just like everyone else. And I just cringe every time I put fuel into my Tahoe. I usually try to fuel up at Dillon's. Then I can use my rewards points.

Did you know that you get more points when you buy gift cards at Dillon's? Not positive, but maybe like 4X the points. They sell ALL sorts of gift cards. Just not Dillon's! But also Kohl's, Bed Bath & Beyond, Applebee's, Subway, Old Navy, Outback Steakhouse and MANY MANY others. Even Amazon and Ebay. They also sell fuel cards. So, doesn't this make some sense? Before you fuel up, take 5 minutes and go into Dillon's and buy a fuel gift card. Then you get points for spending points. Duh!!

Yesterday I went to Dillon's. Bought a fuel card, a Home Depot card and a IHOP card. Fueled up and got my gas for like 50 cents cheaper than if I would have fueled up at WaKeeney. That made me smile. I got points for buying my Home Depot card that I was going to shop from anyways. And the IHOP card I plan on using the first weekend in April when I go visit my girls. (One of Jessica's favorites besides Outback)

I plan to be smart and save money!! Everyone has 5 minutes extra!!

Welcome. . . . . .

To the newest members of our Bison family.

Aunt Sharon now has this little guy living with her. Charlie is 3 months old.

 

 

 

 

And this is Courtney's little girl. As of right now, I don't think she has a name. But I'm sure she will soon. She is only 2 weeks old, so she has 6 more weeks with her mama before she comes home.

This week has gone by way to fast! Maybe it was because Jessica and Marley has been here since Monday. Every so often Jessica has to come to this side of the state for work. She is all over the place while here. Beloit, WaKeeney, Ness City, Oberlin, Phillipsburg and Beloit again. And she gets to work it all out so she stays with us. But today. . . . . they are heading back east. Boo! The house is now quiet. Jorge is already asleep on the back of the couch. 

Now it's back to just boring ole' us!

I THINK that Michele will be taking a few extra days off over Easter weekend. So we now have that to look forward too. Not sure about Jessica and Marley. Either way, we enjoy our time with either or both of our girls. And I'm sure that Roger enjoys them here. He then knows that I will be cooking. And that is far and few inbetween when it is just us.

Mom and Dad forgot. Forgot that this was in their basement. In fact, they had three. One is now above their table. This one and theirs were yucky bright brass. Thank you Dad for fixing that! The third is white. And eventually I will be working on it. Right now the plan for that one is for my bathroom. But I have to get to so many other things first. :-) 

Back to this one. . . . Last Sunday Mom, Dad, Courtney, Cody and Aunt Sharon came up and helped Roger wire it up. Well, Dad did. The rest of us were the spectators. And I am LOVING it!!

It took awhile to get this done. But it is. And I'm so happy and pleased! Crooked little wings for my crooked little sister. (Who isn't crooked any longer. ) I now feel at peace.

Never met friend. . . . .

I have a friend. . . . . a friend that I have never met face to face. And look at what she sent me! Somehow, back in time, I found her on the computer. She is from St. Francis, Kansas. And she is ALL sorts of talented. I actually had her make these beautiful paper bag albums for both of my girls college graduations. This is soooo me!! Thank you Renee'! I L<3VE it!!
