2012 Ford Edge

Michele here... Gotta share some new excitement in the Ummel family! Jessica GOT A NEW CAR!! It's a 2012 Cinnamon Metallic Ford Edge! She's been debating about trading her car in for quite some time now. Once I had a good experience with Laird Noller Ford here in Topeka she decided to go for it. Congrats Jess!

Tornado

This picture was taken last night. The lights is the town of LaCrosse. My Mom and Dad live in Bison, which is about 6 miles to the east. The storm was moving to the east, but then went north/northeast. Luckily, there were no injuries. Sure is scary looking!!

Taylor. . . .

Look @ that Johnson chin!!

Your order of the solo cup phone will arrive in 3-4 business days. Please arrange to meet in the middle to connect your lines. (no..... you hang up!)

Taylor graduated from Maize High School last Thursday. I can remember her hiding behind the recliner because she was sooooo scared of Uncle Roger. Then Uncle Roger let her ride the cows. Friends forever!!  Next year she is going to Hutchinson Community College.  You have come a long ways girl!! And we are so very proud of you!! Love you so much!!!

And today is Taylor's 18th birthday. . . .

Happy Birthday Taylor!!

DMV. . . .

In Topeka. (Yes, we have also been at Taylor's graduation in Wichita. More to come on that later.)  Having such a nice time!! We got back to Topeka about 12:20 am Friday morning. Slept. . . . then went SHOPPING! But first we went to the DMV so Mishi could get her tags for the new car. That place is SCARY! Got our number at 10:15 am. Talked to a few people and learned that the wait was gonna be a very long one. But the Treasurer does have a good set up considering. You can go on a website and check the hallway and see the number sign on what number they are at. Mishi went back at 4 pm before they shut the doors. At 5 pm Jessica and I went to sit in the parking lot to put coins in the parking meter for her (which we found out too late that they stop at 5 pm). Within minutes we heard gunshots. We had heard that Thursday night they had enough people in the office that they stayed open till 8 pm. Close to dark. . . . . young girl. . . . downtown. . . . gun shots. . . yep, we weren't leaving her. Loooonnnnnggggg story short, she walked out of the building around 6:15 pm. Eight hours after we picked up her number. Talk about crazy! Sure would have been easier if she could have tagged her car in Trego County!!

Yawanna and Francis

Michele here... As most of you know I graduated from FHSU this past weekend. We started the day early at Gross Memorial Coliseum in Hays. I received my Bachelors of Business Administration with an emphasis in Management Information Systems. It was a great feeling of achievement to walk across that stage!! After that, everyone came back to our house to help us celebrate! We had good food, amazing cake and took a lot of photos! Then, we shot some clays and hit golf balls into the pasture to end the evening! It wouldn't be an Ummel gathering without some redneck entertainment, hehe. Everyone else hit the hay while I went back to Hays to celebrate with friends. What a great weekend! Thanks to all of our family and friends who came out to help us celebrate! I love you all and I am so very blessed!! Now... onto the next phase of my life!

Kona blue. . . .

Whew! Glad that weekend is over! We got the girls moved, with the help of "Three Men and a Truck". Thank goodness for them! Sure saved Roger's back. We just LOVE the girls new townhome! It is just beautiful!!! (Wonder if they would let us move in..... ) Now they just have a lot of unpacking. And then in a couple weeks I'm heading back to help them hang pictures and finish the rest of the unpacking. Right now they have sooooo much going on. Jessica has out of town business to attend to this week and Michele is finishing up her classes. Can't believe that graduation is next weekend!

This last weekend was also a first for Mishi. She bought her first car alone. Soooo proud of her! Not every 22 year old can go in and do that. And not need their parents to co-sign with her. Go Mishi!! I think Roger and I have done good! Anyways..... funny story to tell, but will let Michele post pictures and tell you more later when she has time. Michele had started this process a few weeks ago. Looking. Deciding on what she wanted. What color. Just all that jazz. She then went back to the dealership and told them. Then the search began for them to find the car and get it to Topeka. She goes to the dealership. Signs her papers and all that stuff. Her car only has 265 miles on it. And those are the miles it took to get from the dealership they found the car in. Guess where the car came from????  hahaha!   Hays, Kansas. Now that is funny!! Roger said he could have saved them the time. He could have driven for them. After all we just drove that route.

Congrats Mishi on your new car! It is awesome!
Congrats girls on your new home! It is just beautiful! You girls did good.
Love you both!!
