Sweetheart!

Isn't she such a sweetheart!! Last Monday I took off from work to go to Great Bend with Mom, Dad and Charlene. We had a meeting with the lawyer who was setting up Mom and Dad's will and also the Special Needs Trust they have for Charlene. Boy I'm glad that they got that finished! You just never know..... and we need to protect that special girl! After the meeting we did a "little" shopping. Then went back to Mom and Dad's, just hung out and spent the night. Dad officially started his RETIREMENT also on Monday. I say he is not Retired ......just TIRED! It was nice to sit and watch The Bachelor with Mom. She never gets to control the tv.... Char does.... so I told Char she couldn't change my channel. :-) And then Mom watched with me. Stupid show ~ I know! But I like it anyways. Last night I made Roger watch it with me. I'd say he must really love me to do that!

Sun is shining.... snow is melting....what a beautiful day! You would never know that it is the middle of January. Sure makes you wonder if it is the calm before the storm. And where are we? Roger is at work. And Michele and I are inside. Go figure. I've got the wash going.... we watched a movie... and then I'm heading to sew. Have a GREAT weekend!

SURPRISE!!!!! And what a grand time we had. Every child, grandchild and great grandchild was there! A warm dinner in our tummy's.... sweets.... and lots of fun. As I was sitting there yesterday watching everyone, I was thinking back to over 20 years ago when the grandchildren themselves were little. We were talking how out numbered Alan was many years ago...... How the girls would go play dress up and Alan would have to play too. Just so he had somebody to play with. And out he would come..... dress, heels, hat and all! Yesterday he chose not to "play". Our attention now is more on the wee little ones. Kayla and Teagan. They are just too dang cute! My how we grow up and old!! Roger's sister is a GRANDMA! I wouldn't have even imagined that 20 years ago. I guess what they say is true .......... TIME FLY'S WHEN YOU ARE HAVING FUN! And what FUN it is! LIFE IS GRAND!

I've got a secret.....

Got your attention??? I've got a secret and I can tell you the secret we are keeping.... because she does not have internet, so she can NOT see! hehe Audrey planned many months ago to have a 70th birthday party for Glada the middle of this month. Then Kathryn had something that came up and she was not going to make it. So....... changing around the schedule we have moved the party up a week. Now Glada thinks that Kathryn is coming to visit her a week before everyone else comes for her party. SURPRISE!!!!! We will ALL be showing up early!!! .............. Roger .. Corina .. Jessica .. Gabe .. Michele .. Vicki .. Dennis .. Cara .. Kim .. Audrey .. Alan .. Miranda .. Kayla .. Kathryn .. Tanner.. & Teagan. I truly hope that she enjoys her day. We will be taking many pictures as it is getting harder and harder for everyone to get together. Especially as the grand kids are having children of their own.

Our Christmas was wonderful! At first we were not sure that Jessica was going to make it. But she did! We had our snow storm the beginning of the week. We had her ready and packed. Then on Thursday morning we checked the weather and said...... GO! Luckly she got out of Topeka before they had their snow storm. Christmas we just spent the day being LAZY! (Well.... I did cook a big dinner.) Glada and Audrey were suppose to come and spend the day with us, but due to the weather they stayed home. Then on Saturday we went to Mom & Dad's and had our Christmas there. What fun! I tell you what..... that Taylor is something else! She is just doing SOOOOOOOO well! We are so happy for her!

Happy New YEAR.....

Happy New Year to all our family and friends! Wow! I can NOT believe that it is 2010. The year went by soooooooooooo fast! Before we know it, Santa will be coming down our chimney soon. Gosh that is funny! I remember as a child, the days seems so long. The school days were even longer. Now as we get older, we understand. The days just fly by! I was still having troubles writing 2009.



Roger and I spent the New Years together......... sleeping! Just couldn't do it. Went to bed @ 10:15pm. Yes, we are getting old. Jessica and Gabe were in Topeka. I haven't got to talk to her yet today, but she has texted her Dad. (Isn't that just great! They talk to him probably more than me! But I think it is wonderful that they can have that kind of relationship with their father.) Anyways, they went to Alan n Miranda's for awhile. Then onto one of Gabe's friends. The only other thing I know is it was LATE! hehe Michele was in Hays. Sounds like her party was a crowd she normally wouldn't hang with, and she left for home when the others all went to the bar. Good girl! I just talked to her and she was waiting for Grandma Kaler. They are making a road trip to Manhattan. What bonding time! Jessica is meeting them there too. Fun fun!



I know I haven't been updating very well as just been busy, busy! The next couple days I will update our holiday and post pictures. Until then..... we hope that you and your family all have a Happy New Year! That everyone stays safe and sound! Just be Happy!!!
