Mishi had her surgery this afternoon. All is well, but we are staying overnight in our " beautiful suite". And have a "beautiful view" of a very large air conditioning unit. Other than that.... life is good..... right now. Dr. Alex removed the part of the pin that was causing the popping. Took out the extra scar tissue and manipulated the knee. He said he had to really force it to bend. That she would never had been able to work thru it with physical therapy. Then they took x-rays. (Our guess the way he explained..... was to make sure they didn't break anything when they bent it. YIKES!) The block they put in has really helped with the pain. Right now we have physical therapy scheduled for two times tomorrow. Hmmmmmm! We have hopes that this surgery will be much easier than the last!!!

So much!!!!!
Mishi is having ANOTHER surgery on June 17th. She still can not bend her knee. Gosh darn it! So, on Thursday they will be doing several things. First the button on her knee cap that was used to hold the donor ligament..... it needs to come out. It has moved and when she does her knee slides, her knee is popping. The button is rubbing on the bone. Second, they need to remove all the scar tissue. They think she makes scar tissue very fast and it has scar tissued shut. Plainly........ it is STUCK! Third, they are going to manipulate her knee. Meaning they are just going to bend it! She will be in the hospital overnight again as these procedures are very painful. We just want to get it over and done with!! Then starting on Monday she will again be going to physical therapy 5 days a week. We originally had vacation planned for the beginning of July. BUT, since we have had such a problem with this knee, we are not going. We need to be VERY serious of getting this knee working properly! But so sad that we can't go see LaDonna and family!!!! :-( On the good note, we are possibly getting our hot tub back! Mishi is doing some therapy in a whirlpool and the physical therapist has suggested finding one that Mishi can get in on a daily basis. SOOOOO.... we have decided to pursue getting a hot tub again, and it is looking like we just might be able to get ahold of our old one. YEAH! Not only will it help Mishi, but I'm hoping it will help my pain as well. Then Roger has truck driver back. Are we falling apart or what???
Since we can not go on vacation, we have still decided to take our days off. Jessica, Marley (Jessica's puppy) and Taylor will be coming and visiting us. And we have some plans made. Painting, quilting, garden, yard and just plain being lazy..................
Last night Roger and I went to Hays and got patio stones to start making a place for the hot tub. We then met Mom, Dad and Mishi for supper. (Mishi was spending the night and going to church this morning with them.) What a nice time we had... just visiting. Then this coming weekend they are going to Wichita to help Jenny and family pack/move. Even sounds like they are getting Courtney and Cody for the weekend too. It will be so good for them to see them. It sure has been awhile!
Jessica and Gabe went to Oklahoma this weekend. They went to spend time with Kevin and Amanda. (Gabe's brother and sister in law) Sounded like the had lots crammed in the weekend. Bet they had a GREAT time.

Always Remember Me......
Today is Memorial Day. The day we are to remember our loved ones who have since left this world to a more beautiful place. And I'm very sad to say that this now includes my beautiful little sister Charlene. Charlene passed away Thrusday morning in her sleep. I'm at loss for words. A part of me is missing...............

Up up and.... AWAY
Whew! How busy we have been!..........
~Mishi is still working on that knee! You get your knee broke and have to protect the break. Then you still try to keep it flexible. NOT! She can not get her knee to bend like it should. We went to the Doctor yesterday. He said the knee is now filled with scar tissue. What a no win situation! She now will go to physical therapy every day and take some meds. He hopes this will break that tissue up. If it doesn't.... another surgery. Then he also told us that the pin on her knee cap is irritating her knee. It too may need to come out. UUUhhhhgggg! She did ask him when they go back in and take out the two large screws/washers, if she could keep them. Made her SMILE. She can. Looks like she has a very busy summer ahead.
~Roger is keeping VERY busy at work! They have drilled a lot of oil wells around our house the last few months and his company is taking care of them. We are told they have enough holes to keep the rig in our area for the next year. Good for Roger's company, but he is getting VERY tired. Lots of long hours. What a hard worker he is!
~Jessica is doing pretty good. She made it thru her first week at her new job. Sounds like she is enjoying it much more. And has room to advance. Go Jessica! We are just so proud of her! I'm sure her wishes will come true ..... she WILL be the boss someday! Her and Gabe are coming home for the long Memorial weekend. I just can't wait!!!! It is such a joy to have both my babies home at the same time. We are planning a bonfire one evening. I'm sure there will be plenty of laughs!!!!
~Me.... just tired. Keeping up with work, the house and helping Mishi is keeping me busy. Now if only the Doctor can pinpoint why my body is doing what it is doing.... everything would be much better. I started out with problems in just my hand, but it is now in my whole body. They have ran many tests and have at this point ruled out a few things. One being Multiple Scleroses. Whew! That is a scary one! My Doctor thinks it may be Rheumatoid Arthritis and is sending me to a specialist from KU Med Center. It is what it is.... and it will be all okay.

HaPpY DaY!
Happy Mother's Day! This is the day that all Mother's thank God for the special "things" in their lives. WRONG! It is the day that your family thanks you for the special things you do for them. A Mother thanks God each and EVERY day for what he has given them. I am so thankful for the joys in my life.... Jessica and Michele. They have grown into such mature, strong young women. I wouldn't change a thing! I couldn't post a picture of me and the girls this weekend as Jessica couldn't make it home, BUT she is coming home next weekend. So..... I will be sure to grab that snapshot then.
Yesterday I got to BBQ supper for my Mommy! :-) Mom, Dad and Char spent the afternoon with us. And what a wonderful time we had visiting. Now that I think of it... I should have grabbed a snapshot of her and I together!!! Or one of her and Charlene. DARN! But we did have a really nice time! Roger even had Dad look at some things around the house. We were not happy at all with the estimate on the windows, so I think WE (Roger & Dad) are going to put new ones in. Mostly the afternoon was just chatting and ENJOYING!

BiRds sInGIng......la la laaaaaa.....
Did you stop and listen?? The birds were singing away today. What a beautiful day! Roger was off today, so you guessed it........ he spent it OUTSIDE. He really was wanting to mow, but last night I spread fertilizer/weed killer on the grass. But he still got the mower ready and found the spots that he could mow. MEN! I see it happening........ my "honey do" list is getting ignored BIG time. We did spend some time today outside deciding what we are going to do next with our house and yard. On Tuesday we have the siding guy coming to give us estimates on siding the house and also new windows. Will be interesting what $$ amount he comes up with and if we decide to follow through with it or not. We've come a long way with this house, but also have a LONG way to go too.
I spent the day mostly keeping the washing machine/dryer going. A little more laundry since Michele has been home. But that is okay..... that is what Mom's do. Other than that I was basically a little lazy. I guess everyone needs days like that. But tomorrow I now have a pretty busy day. Cleaning... paying bills... and that quilt I keep saying I'm going to work on. I REALLY have to get it going!
Enjoy the day....... enjoy the weekend..... Monday will be here before we know it!
