Tomorrow. . . . . . . . I'm off to Topeka again! LOVE heading east! I have a meeting Thursday and Friday. I'm not loving that, but LOVE that I get to see my girls!! I made a quick trip last Friday. Mishi had a scope done on her "good" knee. Helped her out and then came home on Sunday. What a traveler I am right now! We did work on that dresser or hers. It is going to end up as their tv stand in the living room. It should be finished this trip. And I can't wait to show you a finished picture! It is turning out just beautiful!!!! I am also taking Jessica's chairs to her too. We will be finishing them. Busy busy!! Now I'm proud to say that the girls have caught my "bug". Saturday we are going to look for s.t.u.f.f.

Why? . . . . . .

Why do they call it Black Friday? Just wondering. I mean, after all, it starts on Thanksgiving. What happened to it all starting on Friday?

As I sit here with my feet up, I hear snoring. :-) Not sure which room it is coming from. The dogs are wondering, Roger is at work and I'm here. So. . . . . it is coming from either Jessica or Michele. Your question. . . . . Did they do "Black Friday"? 

Yes! Yes they did. Thanksgiving we spent at The Kaler's. As usual, GREAT food and lots of family bonding. Mom, Dad, Courtney, DeJay (Courtney's friend), Cody, Jessica & Michele had the plan. The plan for Black Friday. And it sounds like they had lots of fun!!! And Michele got her big ticket item. . . . the 50" tv. YEAH!!! They started with the midnight sale at The Mall and ended up at their destination, aka home, about 7:30 this morning. Lets say it did not take them long to go to bed. It don't sound like a big deal, but when you think about it, that is up for about 24 hours. Eating a big turkey meal. Lots of laughing, pushing, shoving and just doing the shop till you drop!! Way to go guys!! Way to take it for the team!

Took an old motel door and made it into a headboard. You can't see it in this picture, but it is room 33.

This dresser was given to us by my Mom a few years ago. It was stained in early american and had shiny brass handles. I sure wish I had taken a before picture!! I used the hickory gel stain. I think I'm LOVING gel stain!! The hardware was bought at Hobby Lobby. I love how it turned out!

News from Jersey

Hey all... Michele here. Just wanted to share some news and a story from my coworkers up in Edison, New Jersey. They were back at work only two days after hurricane Sandy went through. The first day they were back in the office, only a few people made it in because of the gas lines and many people didn't have electricity and needed gas to run their generators for their families. The office building had power ran by generators, however they had no internet. I do have to say they are a pretty creative group, as they took turns streaming internet off of their smart phones that day! They worked hard to make sure the storm didn't slow down the progress on the new system. We sent them gift baskets to show them how much we appreciated their hard work and dedication!! (We tried to send them gasoline and propane, but after looking into it we found out there was strict regulations and we couldn't do that, so we settled on gift baskets). 

Earlier this past week, I was working with one of their actuaries named Jim to report issues I was finding in my testing. He was not responding to my emails and I was getting rather irritated! Any changes to our next release had to be in by Friday so the programmers could get them implemented this past weekend. I rolled over to our webcam and popped up the team in NJ. I asked them where Jim was, and they all started laughing! Apparently, Jim's car had been stolen that day and he was working to get a hold of the insurance company, but with so many calls still coming in from the hurricane he was having a hard time. They all knew it wasn't a funny situation, but with everything they had been through the past few weeks all they could do was laugh or they would go crazy!!! Poor Jim... a hurricane, 9 inches of snow PLUS a stolen car! What a week!

Happy Halloween!

This morning I met my Mom and my Aunt Sharon at Hays.  We then went to Salina to do some fast shopping.  And some good bonding. While there I met Aunt Eunice and gave her the rest of the signs that I was to make from the Ummel Reunion. So, if you are one of them waiting. . . . ur signs are in Salina. (Larry & Linda, Donnie, Bob & Donna, Vicki and Kathryn) You can contact Aunt Eunice and get them from her. Thank you Aunt Eunice!!!!! And I will make sure the next trip I have extra time for lunch!! You're just way to sweet!

News. . . . . Roger went to Oklahoma City yesterday and got a NEW truck!! Yah!!! He didn't get home till really late. And I left for the day today. So we will get a picture up in the next few days. Looks pretty snazzy to me.
