Happy Valentine's Day. . . .

to Me!! <3 From my love. . . .

latest. . . .

I bought this coffee table from a lady in town for $20.00. And Roger's question was. . . . Why? I didn't know why. It was a good deal! A very heavy/solid piece of furniture. Now it is in my living room. And I'm LOVING it!! What next??

hump day. . . .

This last weekend was not a very nice one. The wind! Gosh, if only it would blow just a little. Jeez! Anyways, the weather was not a good one for this body. In fact, Sunday night was kind of just darn right nasty. So I did not make it to work on Monday. But one thing I did do was make two phone calls. The first was to my Chiropractor. And the second was to. . . . . .

So I bet you now know how my Wednesday has gone. GREAT!! I went to the Chiropractor and then I went and had a wonderful massage. And when I say wonderful, I mean WON.DER.FUL!!

And yesterday my new paint and wax brushes came!! YEA!

And I'm off to paint!!
Happy Day!! :-)

whirlwind of F.U.N!!

And LOTS of it!

Saturday morning Jorge, Roger and I left at the butt crack of dawn for Topeka. And got there just in time to go to a basketball game. Michele coaches a little girls team in their church recreation league. She has the cutest little girls!! One in the first grade and then the others are in the second and third grade. After one game, I already have my favorite. . . . Ella. Of course they all look tiny. It sure does bring back memories from when the girls were little. Ella was a little spitfire!! Michele laughs and says that she thinks that Ella has ADHD. She had her hair up in two ponytails. The pony's were wrapped up around. At halftime one of them fell, so one up. . . one hanging down. I kept thinking to myself that Michele should either fix the one, or let the other down too. So funny to see Ella running down the court. It was like the one pony hanging down must have weighed a ton. Later I found out that Michele DID try to fix the pony. But Ella didn't want it fixed. She thought she looked cool this way. I could just put her in my pocket and bring her home. I'm sure she keeps her Mom a hopping!! I have plans to go back to Topeka in a few weeks and will be able to go to their last game. Think I will have to take my camera!! Roger and I sure enjoyed the game!

Right after the game Michele, Jessica, Gabe, Roger and I were off! Off to Kansas City. Cousin Rick and Gayle had recently went to the West Bottoms in Downtown Kansas City. Lots of cute flea market types of stores. They are all open on the first Friday, Saturday and Sunday of each month. And just so happen that was this weekend. It was a HAVE to!! And in the VERY first store. . . . Roger made the very first purchase! So, if he tells you he didn't enjoy. . . he is lying! I do have to admit, lots of people. Lots of walking. Lots of stairs. But well worth it!! We are planning for the next trip. Let us know if you want to come along. Guaranteed jaw dropping!

We also got to meet and watch in action. . . .
Jennifer Bertrand~HGTV's Design Star Season 3 winner.
After LOTS of walking, (and we didn't even hit every store) we were off! Off on the hunt. hehe. The hunt (pun intended) for a gun. Roger has been wanting a new gun. And I swear he is worse than a woman! First the kids and I were going to surprise him with one for Christmas. But it was really hard for me to keep up. To keep up with which one he wanted. He just kept changing his mind. Finally we decided to just give him money. So with that money, our money for Christmas (thanks everyone!) and some extra, Roger found his gun. And was he excited!! Like Michele said. . . . like a kid in a candy store.

.45 Big Boy Colt

And of course the girls had to play!!

After a long day, we were back to Topeka. Michele's friend Nick then met us and we had a very nice supper at OutBack Steakhouse. Lots of laughs!

Sunday was our "lazy" day. We helped the girls move some furniture around. And of course had the Super Bowl on. Then Monday morning, Michele had a doctor's appointment I went to with her. And then onward west.

Oh my goodness! What a weekend!!!

outhouse. what??

This last September the yearly Ummel Reunion was out here. We called it Ummel West. :-) And if you remember, I made signs out of wood that we got off the Ummel homestead. At the reunion, we used these as prizes. Of course we took requests so everyone that wanted one could get the wood too. I had made one for Michele, but Jessica was just not interested in the sign. But we did use the wood to make her something. And cute it is!! A magnetic dry erase board with the wood framing it. Gonna be a good place for the grocery list! The wood is from the outhouse. And if you think that is funny. . . . You should know that the outhouse door is in my back yard!

r.e.m.e.m.b.e.r

Remember that dresser we got for Michele's tv? The one that wasn't big enough? Yep. That one. Well, this is now the one. :-) And what a steal it was!! Looked pretty yucky when we got it. A little cleaning up. Sanded. Stained. And painted. It took a while to get what I wanted, but in the end. . . . I love it. Now I just hope the girls like it! Just remember the the turquoise is brighter in the picture because of my camera flash.

Thank you lord. . . . . .

so very much! With the all medicines I take, it is "required" I see my eye doctor with frequent visits. My last appointment I was not feeling so well, so I had cancelled. (but rescheduled) My rheumatologist office actually called me to "remind" me that I need to go to the appointments. I really felt like a 5 year old after that call. :-)  I know that my RA meds are all risky. Take the risk. . . . . . or be crippled and sick? Hmmmmmm. What does a person do? After several tests this morning, I was told my eyes were excellent! I can go back to my contacts as I can tolerate them. January has been great!!  Two doctors appointment with great news.

Life is beautiful. And what a beautiful ride!!

h.e.l.l.o. . . . . . .

Woooooo! The last week sure has been a busy one! Life goes on. I'm not sure where we found the time when the girls were still home.

This blog is a place for all our family and friends to keep up with us. But sometimes I have a hard time sharing. Not on what we do, but on me. So here it goes. . . . This week I had a follow up appt in Hutchinson with my Rheumatologist. It was a VERY good appt. My labs have GREATLY improved (in fact, they are excellent!) since I've started on the Humira injections. They sting like a burger, but I'm feeling much better! And thank goodness for prescription insurance!! My Dr. is also cutting down some of my meds, which makes me very excited. One of them being the injection that makes me sick to my stomach. My weight loss has also slowed down. I'm now at 42 lbs. Not that I'm complaining. . . . . . (I'm loving the new clothes I'm having to buy!) To say the least, I'm feeling better. And when I'm happy. . . . . Roger is happy.

Besides work and Dr. appts, I'm doing some refurbishing. Can't wait to share!! I may be slow. . . . but I will get them done. That said. . . . . .

TIME TO GET BUSY!
