Bridal Shower #2. . . . .

M's Bridal shower was back in August.  She was sooo nervous.  And that just strikes me as funny.  She has to get in front of people and give presentations at work. Why would you be nervous about opening presents in front of people??

Roger came along for the weekend.  He needed to get his suit fitted for the wedding.  Then he got to spend some quality time with Nick.  They did some work replacing the front door and screen door.

Lots of trips to Topeka between the two weddings and planning.

The bridal shower was exactly what M wanted.  Played a couple games.  Opened presents.  And had a little cake.  One of the games was decorating one of your team with toilet paper to look like a bride.  I think we can all decide that Haley looked the best.  :-)  But the other teams DID try.

These girl's M worked with at Security Benefit.  We laughed and laughed at them.  They put just a little too much thought into the game.

Michele had her own team with her cousin Taylor.  What sillies!!

And the winner is??  Haley :-)

Michele didn't do a very good job with her bride. . . .
Whoops. . . .

The Cousins.  Apparently one didn't want her picture taken. :-)

Pretty crazy. . . . . .

Just short of two weeks since Michele & Nick was married.  It is still hard to believe that both our girls are married women.  We had so much planning to do with two weddings in five months that I'm not sure what to do with my time now.  I'm sure I will figure it out.  :-)

Here are some sneak peaks from October 3, 2015. . . .

Bruce. . . . .

The newest member of The Brady family.  ;) Bruce is a Golden Doodle.  Big.  Furry.  And soooooo lovable!  In fact, Michele has to tell him all the time that he is not a 20 lb. lap dog.

Michele and Nick gets married this weekend.  Yikes!!  It is here! And on Sunday, Bruce and Nemo will be spending the week with us while Michele and Nick go to Florida for their honeymoon.  We got to spend the week with Marley when Jessica and Gabe went to LasVegas for their honeymoon.  We get to have some more grand dog bonding time.

Watch out Jorge, Boo & Zola!  Your world's are about to be rocked!!!

Luke. . . . .

We lost our Luke a couple weeks ago.  :-(

Let me tell you a story. . . . . . .

Years ago I was at work.  And everyday we listened to Tradio. This was a radio show.  It was the place you sent your requests to on things you wanted to buy or sell.  So. . . . I'm working.  And I hear my phone number being said on Tradio.  What???

Wanted ~ Just moved to the country and we are wanting a puppy.  Would like a lab, but will consider other breeds.

Huh?????

I called home.  And I heard this from Michele.  "Mom, you said I could get a puppy when we moved to the country.  Well, we moved."

That day Michele and her Dad were making an hour or so trip to pick up Luke.  He was about 9 months old.  A lab who had papers but couldn't sell because his back end didn't fit standards.

Forward to the next day.

You have to be kidding!!!  All the girls I work with are laughing!  I again hear my phone number on Tradio.

I again call home.  This time I hear from Jessica.  "Well.  It worked for Michele. I want a husky."

Thank goodness nobody ever called.  Because not long after we got Jorge for Jessica.

Luke was Michele's.  Jorge was Jessica's.  Yes. . .  we have had these two dogs gracing our home.  I can't complain. I really wouldn't have had it any different.

You will be missed Luke. . . . .

Been over a year. . . .

Today.  Another day in paradise.

We didn't even hear the rv pull in the driveway.  And I even had the windows open.

Thank goodness Roger was home from work early.  I had the front door open enjoying the cooler weather.  When the doorbell opened we both had that deer in the headlight look.  If you lived here and had the visitors we have had you would have that look too.

"Tourists"
"on vacation"
"wind got hold of the canopy"
"have a ladder?"

Of course, what do you say?  So Roger went out to help them.  And of course as he is going out the door he tells me to keep the guns close.  And I say. . . . . "And remember.  This is the reason I don't want to retire here."

Thirty minutes later the driver and his partner are on their way.

Way to go Roger!

Now I'm thinking I should have taken a picture thru the screen. :-)
